You need help - Помогите, пожалуйста...
This is the imperative form of the verb, but in Russian it doesn't sound as harsh as the direct English translation "Help, please!" but is more akin to "Could you help me, please!".
You may need help finding your way:
Помогите, пожалуйста...
... я тут заблудился (заблудилась) (I've gotten myself lost around here)
... я неместный (-ая) (I'm not a local)
... я ищу спортивный магазин (I'm looking for a sports shop)
Or help with getting something to work:
Помогите, пожалуйста...
... у меня не получается (I can't get the hang of this)
... я не знаю, как это работает (I don't know how it works)
... я не знаю, как это делается (I don't know how you're supposed to do it)
... это для меня новое (it's new)
If you're in a place for the first time:
Помогите, пожалуйста...
... я здесь первый раз (I've never been here before)
... я не знаю, к кому обратиться (I don't know who to ask)
... я не знаю, куда идти (I don't know where to go)
Or maybe you just need a helping hand:
Помогите, пожалуйста...
... мне одному (одной) тяжело (It's difficult for me on my own)
... у меня рук не хватает (I don't have enough hands)
... поднятся (to get up)
